This is one of the most beautiful religious events in the honour of the saint patron of Copertino also known as the Flying Friar.
San Giuseppe is born at Copertino on 17th June 1603 and died at Osimo where his body is preserved, on September, 18th 1663. He is considered the protector of students. His charismatic person was honoured for his miracles and extraordinary mystic raptures. He completely changed the lives of the people of his time thanks to his strong faith and its expression through trances and levitation. Celebrations are held in September with religious procession, concerts, carnival events, flea markets of local vendors or of different ethnic groups and fireworks of an extraordinary beauty.
